In my Read & Review package, I'll read what you've written so far, up to a total of 10,000 words, and write you a detailed report with my expert advice on the key areas of:
1. Purpose - is it clear throughout?
2. Audience - is your ideal reader being targeted?
3. Structure & Style - is your narrative voice consistent? Does your style fit your purpose?
4. Genre - could specific elements of craft be developed such as, for example, depth of reflection in memoir, structure of argument in business and development of character in fiction?
5. Potential next steps - what could help to make your continued writing journey a good bit easier?
We'll then meet to discuss your report and to answer any questions you may have on your writing and publishing journey. You'll leave with clarity on what to do, and motivation to do it!
If you're interested in this service, email me at [email protected] to discuss timeframes, or book in for a chat via the button below.
The Read & Review package will answer all of your questions about your book writing journey.
So, what's included . . .
1. A read through of your manuscript so far, up to a total of 10,000 words. If you have written more than this we will discuss which key areas you'd like me to focus on.
2. A written report based on my findings.
3. A 60 minute 1:1 session to discuss the report and to answer any questions you may have.
The cost of this package is £497.
When you book in for a Read & Review, we will arrange your feedback session two weeks after the date agreed for you to send me your manuscript.
Let's do it!

Read & Review is a one-off manuscript feedback package for authors who've started writing but want expert input before they carry on. I read up to 10,000 words of your work in progress, write a detailed report covering purpose, audience, structure and style, and genre-specific craft, then meet you for a 60-minute session to talk it through.
Both. The report is built around what your genre needs: depth of reflection for memoir, structure of argument for business books, character development for fiction - so the feedback is specific to what you're writing, not generic.
Read & Review costs £497. That covers the manuscript read, the written report and the 60-minute feedback session.
Your feedback session is booked for two weeks after the date we agree for you to send your manuscript. That gives me time to read closely and write a considered report rather than a quick skim.
We'll talk before you send anything and agree which section or sections you'd most like feedback on. The 10,000 word limit keeps the report focused rather than trying to cover everything at once.
A written report with my findings across five areas - purpose, audience, structure and style, genre-specific craft, and recommended next steps - plus a live session to discuss it and ask questions about your writing and publishing journey.
No. Read & Review is diagnostic feedback, not editing. I won't be correcting your grammar or rewriting your sentences - I'll be telling you what's working, what isn't, and what to do next. If you're looking for line-by-line editing, this isn't that service.
Not quite. Read & Review is for authors with pages already down - it needs something to read. If you're at the idea stage, The Book Strategy Intensive or the Write Your Book webinar are better starting points.
Read & Review is a single, self-contained report and session - useful if you want an expert opinion before deciding how much support you need. Flourish is ongoing coaching through to a finished manuscript. Many authors use Read & Review first, then move into Flourish once they know what they need.
That's up to you. Some authors take the report and carry on independently; others decide they want ongoing support and move into Flourish or the Writing Partner programme. There's no obligation either way.
